PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE & TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Prepares meaningful and well written correspondence, as well as clear and concise workpapers with definitive conclusions.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of Firm software packages and the ability to use such software effectively.
  • Progress towards/complete the CPA certification process. (at least 1 part taken for promotion to Senior and all parts required for promotion to Supervisor)
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete engagements, to include: 1) participating in engagement planning (i.e. budgeting, risk assessment, strategic development, and client assistance coordination); 2) reviewing and supervising staff work; 3) identifying issues and apply accounting principles and auditing procedures; 4) resolving open items; and 5) preparing and/or reviewing a complete set of financial statements.

  • Develops an understanding of the client’s business and the unique aspects of the industry in which it operates, including significant tax issues.
  • Demonstrates and proactively supports the Firm’s commitment to providing quality client service and developing positive working relationships with clients.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to develop staff by: 1) delegating appropriate work to staff; 2) providing staff with honest, objective and constructive feedback in a timely manner; 3) being accessible to staff to assist in resolving concerns and questions; and 4) participating in in-house training for interns and new staff.

  • Willingly participates in the recruitment of new staff by referring and/or interviewing candidates, and attending on-campus recruiting events, when appropriate.
